Lord Arbenos of 三神The Three defeated 西拉拉Syllara the Witch-Queen, in her fortress that was once atop this mountain, but the dark forces emanating from the deepest roots of the mountain could not be permanently defeated. 凭借尼瓦兰的魔法，她创造了“大封印”，阻止更强大的暗影逃出深坑，再度在瓦兰纳尔肆虐。By the magic of Nivaria, she created the Great Seal which prevents the more-powerful shadows from escaping the Pit and again wreaking havoc on Varannar. 但封印每次只能维持数十年，之后便需要重新施加……But the Seal lasts for only decades at a time between being renewed...

• The 难度difficulty rating of this 区域area varies considerably depending on how far 你you want to go with it. Completing 远古封印The Ancient Seal through the 僧侣monk 战斗fight 是is a 5. Defeating a 黑暗存在Dark Presence to get the 红宝石Ruby Key 是is a 7. Defeating 三神three more Dark Presences plus the 虚空领主Void Lord to complete the whole 区域area, however, 是is a 9 - one of the hardest, 最高highest-等级level 任务tasks in the 游戏game.
• Entering the 地牢dungeon and proceeding as far as the seal initially 需要requires having 希尔盖Hirge in your 队伍party. However, after the 僧侣monk battle and completing the 任务quest 远古封印The Ancient Seal, any 随从companion can join 你you to enter the 区域area and 战斗fight the bigger baddies down below. 所以如果你回来挑战更艰难的部分时更想带上别人，尽管带他们来。So if you prefer someone else when you come back to try the rougher part, by all means, bring them.
• If 你you're in good shape after the 僧侣monk 战斗fight, but don't quite have enough juice to 拾取take on the 虚空领主Void Lord at the very bottom, it can be worthwhile to proceed about halfway through the rest of the pit in order to get to the 尸体corpse 包含containing 数字7的红宝石钥匙Ruby Key with number 7. That opens up some good 战利品loot for 你you 返回back in the 默西亚皇家陵园Mercian Royal Crypt, and 是is a pretty achievable interim goal with this 区域area. Doing so 需要requires beating one 黑暗存在Dark Presence miniboss, so it might be more of a Lv 18-19 thing, while 远古封印The Ancient Seal 是is very doable by Lv 14-16. 而且你也会为将来的探索省些力气，因为那个小首领在地城重置后不会重新出现。But you'll also save some effort for future trips, since that miniboss does not re-appear when the dungeon resets. 你只能步行返回，但暗影都不会重生，所以你唯一的危险（除了无聊之外）就是第一次下来时没注意到的那些尖刺陷阱。You'll have to walk back, but none of the shadows respawn, so your only hazard (besides boredom) is any spike traps that you didn't notice the first time down.
• After the first 黑暗存在Dark Presence (and 红宝石Ruby Key) on the bottom of the 3rd loop, the 地牢dungeon gets even harder - 你you start facing 敌人enemy 分组groups, usually consisting of one 大阴影Greater Shadow 被夹击flanked by 1-2 其他other 阴影shadows. If these are proving extremely challenging (and they probably will, before Lv 22-23 at least), it's a sign that 你you likely don't yet want the smoke from the 虚空领主Void Lord (joined by two Dark Presences) at the 耐力end of the pit. 转身离开、保存进度，等以后带着更多生命值和火力再回来，这并不丢人。There's no shame in walking back out, saving progress, and coming back later with more HP and firepower.
• The 黑暗存在Dark Presence minibosses 丢弃drop senior-龙Dragon 战利品loot, and one of them (at the left/southwest 耐力end of the 4th loop) 是is 再生recurring, i.e. 如果你愿意一路杀到那里，它可以被一遍又一遍地挑战。it can be faced again and again if you want to hack your way down there to get to it. Doing so will 保存save 你you the effort of waiting for (and chasing down) any 红龙Red Dragon or 白龙White Dragon 传闻首领rumor bosses, if 你you need something from them, though the 黑暗存在Dark Presence does have a somewhat higher 秒伤DPS than those rumor-首领boss 龙dragons. Note that this 是is distinct from the 战利品loot dropped by Green 龙Dragons.
• The 虚空领主Void Lord 是is one of the toughest 首领bosses in the 游戏game, hitting for over 100 秒伤DPS, and getting +65% 伤害damage from 复仇女神Fury when it gets to 35% 生命health. 它的护甲也非常高（34），移动速度极快，但它对灵魂伤害极其脆弱（-60），所以只要你能保持站立，就还有机会。It has very high armor as well (34) and moves extra-fast, but it is so weak to Spirit damage (-60) that you stand a chance, as long as you can stay upright. 钥匙Keys to the 战斗fight:
  • Most 重要important 是is attention-management: 拾取take a few 命中hits yourself (while your 随从Companion heals), then stand 返回back to let it 命中hit something else while 你you 治疗heal / cast a 新的new 召唤Summon, etc. 尽可能轮换着来，尽可能坚持下去。Alternate as best you can, and hold out as best you can. 如果召唤物被锁定为目标，它们就会死去，别无他法，只能召唤下一个。If Summons get targeted they will die, and there's nothing to be done but summon the next one.
  • Every 3 秒seconds, 你you and your 随从companion both need to 使用use an 物品item. Most of the time that will be 治疗healing (加拉德灵药Elixir of Galade or the like) or reviving your 随从companion (卷轴：复原法阵Scroll: Circle of Restoration). Brings lots of those, and lots of 次级复原药剂Potion of Lesser Restoration for when it's your turn to 拾取take the 命中hits. 那些东西会源源不断地送进来。Have stacks of those coming in.
  • Buffing 死亡Death 抗性resistance will help (now 是is the best time for that 史诗死亡守护药剂Potion of Epic Death Ward!), but he does so much 伤害damage 魅力per 命中hit that buffing 护甲Armor will do little. 把增益集中在造成更多伤害上（例如Focus buffs on dealing more damage (e.g. 英勇药剂Potion of Heroism, 巨人力量药水Potion of Giant Strength, 战斗祈祷Battle Prayer, etc).
