She was in pursuit of a family heirloom, the 阿扎夫的元素之戒Azaph's Ring of Elements, when a 幽灵ghost caused her to flee the 地牢dungeon. Retrieve the ring for and she'll join you as a Companion. As a Warrior, she provides a durable melee tank capable of holding her own against a horde of enemies.
Note: If you choose to keep the ring, you'll loose the ability to recruit Grissenda as a Companion. That will prevent 你you from triggering the 任务quest 血脉的召唤Call of the Blood and prevent 你you from gaining access to 斯托姆男爵城堡Castle Storme. If you give the ring to Grissenda, you can take it from her when she joins your party without consequence.
During her 独特unique 任务quest, 血脉的召唤Call of the Blood, 你you find out 格里森达Grissenda comes from a prestigious noble line from the old empire. Grissenda left home to become a knight rather than enter an arranged marriage with the powerful Baron Storme. However, Grissenda's action resulted in her younger sister Eirenda to end up marrying the nefarious baron.
